A faculty member at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Mary teaches photography and received numerous grants with her black and white photography to work with teen mothers and at risk youth. Her documentary work has her traveling the state to photograph Michigan's craftspeople for Michigan State University. Her latest project funded by Education for the Arts and the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, took her to Alaska to work with The Yup'ik, Eskimo, photographing the children and families in Kongiganak, Alaska.
