I began photographing as a teenager, but it wasn't until after high school that I became seriously interested in photography. I was enrolled at LMC from 1970 to 1972, during which time I was a photographer for their yearbook. From 1972 to 1974 I attended Western Michigan and was a photographer for their yearbook and newspaper. During that time I also worked at a graphic arts studio in Kalamazoo and photographed portraits weddings.

After graduating from Western in the winter of 1974, my interest in black and white landscape photography led me to attend the Ansel Adams Yosemite Workshop in June of 1975 where I spent ten days with Adams, Arnold Neuman, Philip Hyde, Morley Baer and other instructors involved with the workshop. I returned to St. Joseph in August of 1975 and began working for a local commercial photographer and also began the photography program at the St. Joseph Art Center on State Street, expanding the program when the Krasl Art Center was built. In 1981, I began a 16 year partnership with Michelle Palmimi on a commercial photography studio doing product and food photography. In 1997, I started my own business doing commercial photography and have expanded into graphics and video work for the advertising industry.

My personal work has appeared in various shows around the country, and several pieces are in permanent collections.
