I became interested in photography after graduating from Western Michigan University. Armed with a B.S. degree in art education, I changed my mind and decided to find work as a commercial artist.

After carrying around a large folio, it seemed a slide show might be a good idea. I borrowed a camera from a relative to photograph my art work. It was like a disease (a good one). The camera took me over. Many years and many assignments later, I find myself Senior Photographer for the Whirlpool Corporation. I’ve attended numerous seminars, trade shows, and work shops. My work has been published in trade magazines and various product literature, ads, and collateral pieces.. I can’t think of a better way to make a living than being in a profession I enjoy going to every day.

I’ve been a life long resident of the twin cities. I have a wonderful wife, children and grand children, and made many friends along the way. What I love about my work is, it’s in the journey not the destination. That’s where the learning happens. The trick is being able to recognize when you’ve found something good.
